On June 9, Canada invited a total of 940 Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) to apply for permanent residence. These candidates must have had a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) of at least 711 to receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA).
Candidates who get a provincial nomination receive an extra 600 CRS points. This means that candidates needed only 111 core points to receive an ITA.
One day later, on June 10, Canada invited Canadian Experience Class (CEC) candidates to apply for permanent residence. In this draw, invited candidates needed a CRS score of 368.
This is the second lowest CRS requirement this year. The lowest was when Canada invited a whopping 27,332 candidates in a historic Express Entry draw. The CRS score in that draw was just 75.
Since Canada introduced travel restrictions in March 2020, Canada held many program-specific draws like the ones held today.

Express Entry is the system that the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada(IRCC) uses to manage permanent residence applications for one of Canada’s three main economic-class programs:
Many provinces and territories have immigration programs that are aligned with the federal Express Entry system.
Candidates with an Express Entry profile are given a CRS score. This score is based on their age, work experience, education, and their proficiency in French or English.
CRS points can be given to one individual or to a couple. Candidates with the highest CRS scores in the Express Entry pool are invited to apply for permanent residence in a subsequent Express Entry draws.
A candidate would then submit their application to IRCC, who will then make a final decision. Canada aims to process most of the applications within six months. If a candidate is successful, they will receive a Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR) and a visa on their passport if they need one to enter Canada. The final step would be to move to Canada and receive their Permanent Residence (PR) card.
These draws bring the total number of invitations issued so far in 2021 to 81,713.
Canada aims to invite many more people this year to apply for permanent residence. This shows Canada’s commitment to meet its targets as per the Immigration Levels Plan.
Canada is looking to welcome over 400,000 immigrants every year between 2021 and 2023. For 2021, Canada aims to welcome 108,500 immigrants under Express Entry. Canada is aiming to welcome 110,500 immigrants in 2022 and 113,750 in 2023.
Candidates who want to immigrate to Canada can still create an Express Entry profile. IRCC still continues to accept admissions to the Express Entry system, despite travel restrictions currently in place.
