Here are the results of Canada’s most recent Express Entry draw on January 11, 2023.
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has issued 5,500 invites to Canadian permanent resident hopefuls in the latest all-program draw — including candidates in the Canadian Experience Class (CEC), the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), and the Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP).
This latest draw invited candidates with a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 507, up 16 points from the draw that took place on November 23, 2022 (minimum CRS score of 491).
Today’s draw comes seven weeks after the last Express Entry draw took place in late November 2022, exactly one week after IRCC’s transition from NOC 2016 to NOC 2021 on November 16, 2023.
Express Entry draws are expected to resume as normal now that the calendar has turned to 2023, after it is believed that IRCC paused Express Entry draws for 2022 upon reaching their ITA target in late November last year.
Canada’s next Express Entry draw will be conducted in roughly another two weeks’ time.
About Express Entry
Express Entry is one of Canada’s top immigration pathways.
The federal government in this country uses Express Entry to attract skilled foreign workers to Canada by offering permanent residence (PR).
Coming to Canada through Express Entry requires interested candidates to first confirm their eligibility for any of the three programs under this system. Once they do that, they can submit an online profile on IRCC’s website and check their CRS score.
From there, IRCC will conduct a randomized draw every two weeks or so, from which a number of candidates above the cut-off CRS score for that draw will receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for Canadian PR.
Candidates given an ITA during any Express Entry draw will then have 60 days from the date of receipt to complete and submit their PR application.
